Lindsay Conrad is an active singer and arts administrator in the New England area.
As a performer, Lindsay is quickly becoming a main-stay on Boston stages, with companies such as Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Boston Midsummer Opera, Monadnock Music Festival, Odyssey Opera, New Repertory Theatre, OperaHub, Boston Opera Collaborative and Boston Classical Orchestra. Recent performances include Marzelline in Fidelio, Elettra in Idomeneo, Fiordiliji in Cosí fan tutte, Alice Ford in Falstaff, Muffy in John J. King’s award winning re-working of Der Vampyr, and Mabrouka in the Boston premiere of Mohammed Fairouz’s Sumeida’s Song. She also performs regularly with Opera on Tap Boston, an organization that brings opera singing to local bars and restaurants.
She made her acting debut at the New Repertory Theatre as “Sharon” in Terrence McNally’s Masterclass, where she worked with IRNE award winning actress Amelia Broome.
In concert, Lindsay has been featured as the soprano soloist in the Messiah, Mozart's Coronation Mass and Requiem, Saint Saëns' Oratorio de Noël, and the Lord Nelson Mass around the Boston and New England area. In her native Ohio, Ms. Conrad was a featured soloist in the Lord of the Rings Symphony Experience premiere conducted by Howard Shore and Video Games Live.
In her administrative life, Lindsay is the Annual Fund and Leadership Gifts Officer for Portland Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, Lidnsay served as the Director of Admissions and Student Services at Longy School of Music of Bard College, and as Co-Director of Opera on Tap Boston, a chapter of international organization dedicated to bringing opera out of the concert halls and putting it in venues where people least expect it. As the Boston chapter Co-Director with Kathryn McKellar, Abby Krawson and Gina Razon, Lindsay manages and organizes numerous engagements across the Boston metro area, including a residency at The Burren and Stellina.
In the past, Lindsay served as the Production Administration Assistant for Boston Lyric Opera, New England's largest opera company, celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year. Serving as part of the Production team, she assists in producing three mainstage operas and one "annex" opera each season. Lindsay was also the Managing Director for Boston Opera Collaborative from 2013-2016, a unique organization that is dedicated to producing exciting and dynamic opera that engages Boston audiences. A singing roster member since 2011, Lindsay has served as Production Assistant and Coordinator before her role as Managing Director. Along with General Director and fellow soprano Chelsea Beatty and Artistic Directors Greg Smucker and Patricia-Maria Weinmann, BOC produces three mainstage operas a year, along with a myriad of concerts, recitals and outreach programs around the Boston area.
Born in Alliance, OH, Lindsay's passion for music and the arts started at a young age. She started studying piano at age 7, and by high school expanded her studies to include string bass, flute, euphonium and voice. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Music (Vocal Performance) from Otterbein University in Columbus Ohio. While at her undergraduate program, she studied abroad in Florence, Italy for a semester with renowned soprano Valeria Ferri. After graduating, she moved to Boston where she graduated with her Master's degree in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory. After over a decade of living in Boston, Lindsay now lives in Portland Maine and has made it her home base for her performing and administrative career.
